Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Easy Set up and still working..., Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Allstar Performance ALL80500 63 Amp 1-Wire Alternator (Automotive) We installed this alternator on a 1978 Triumph Spitfire we run in endurance races. We needed more power for extra headlights for a 24 hour race back in June 2012. Needed a new bracket and longer belt to make it fit but that was easy enough with a couple generic parts from the local auto parts store.Hooked the power lines to the one wire connection and everything worked. Used six 55watt lights and an electric fan on top of normal ignition and brake lights and had no issues. It is still working to this day (10/30/2012) - Great alternator for the price. The auto start function is at pretty low RPM we don't have to rev the motor to turn it on. There is no ignition connection required with this unit. Plenty of power for older cars when you need a quick simple install for more amps to cover higher power lights or a maybe a high amp stereo. One wires are simple install just make sure you have a good heavy gauge wire running from it to the battery... There were no surprises in the change over. I had to make mounting bracket modifications. The Allstar Alt is performing great. |
