I would recommend using both the screws and clips to install. When using just screws the fit is not as tight, it is also easier to locate were to drill the holes if already attached with the clips. Note Amazon listed this as not fitting my truck, the one they listed as fitting did not and had to be returned. I've had this happen before with Amazon.
